Export buyers also call it formwork plywood, shuttering plywood, or phenolic film-faced — the same family when the RFQ is for reusable molds. Is film faced plywood the same as formwork or shuttering plywood?
For export formwork RFQs, yes — film faced, formwork, and shuttering usually name the same phenolic-film family used as reusable concrete molds. HDO uses a denser phenolic fibre overlay, and MatteFace (often searched as MDO) is a matte overlay bridge — different line items from kraft film gsm. Always write face overlay and core bond as two separate fields on the mill card.
Is film faced plywood waterproof?
No. Call it water-resistant / WBP. A PF core at EN 314-2 Class 3 survives the boil test and the phenolic face sheds wet concrete, but cut edges still take water. Factory-sealed edges and resealing after every site cut are what keep reuse from collapsing on the job.
How many times can film faced plywood be reused?
Reuse is always up to N on the mill card, never a guaranteed pour count. Typical Vinawood ceilings under good site care: Eco Form Plus up to 8, Form Basic up to 10, Form Extra and Pro Form Lite up to 15, Pro Form up to 20. Release agent, sealed edges, and flat covered stacking decide whether you hit the card.
Is Form Extra phenolic Class 3?
No. Form Extra uses Superior Glue MUF and stays EN 636-2. Extra reuse (up to 15) comes from glue chemistry, not a heavier face film. Phenolic Class 3 / EN 636-3 on the Vinawood ladder is Pro Form Lite, Pro Form, and HDO.
How do importers buy mill film faced plywood from Vietnam?
